I'll second what Gator said. I have both DR wings and Oxycheq wings and both are very very good.

If you want to look at Oxycheq stuff online-store-wise, you can also check out www.covci.com. I've had no problems buying stuff from them, and Chris if great over there, if you call. Here's the link that goes directly to their catalog: COVCI Store

deepstops:
There are four authorized DiveRite dealers allowed (by DiveRite) to sell on the net. Only one of the four carries the complete inventory in their warehouse. When you order from the other three, they order from DR (so they are slower to get the product to you).

The stocking dealer is Dive Rite Express.

I've been on their site. In fact, I ordered some stuff from them last year.

OneBrightGator:
Shop around and buy on price, both make quality products.

Have you talked with anyone about your gear requirements?

I've talked to instructors in NJ, AZ, and FL. Each geographic area has its own preferences/biases on brand. That's why I'm asking here. In my research I've found that they both do make great products (that's why I settled on those), but there is a definite difference in wing and bp shapes between the 2. The Oxycheq looks more hydrodynamic (but I've never seen one in person), but I like the look of the DR bp (it appears a little narrower on top than the Oxycheq bp). Price is a consideration, but they're both comparable, so now it's down to the small details of the two. It would be nice if I could get one on my back, but that's just not going to happen here in AZ.

Thanks for the link. I've checked it out and they have better prices than Oxycheq.com. Are they an authorized dealer?

isn't one of the whole bp/wing benefits supposed to be about interchangability? why not mate a oxyxheq wing with a DR backplate, then you get the best of both worlds..or can that nor be done?

That's what I thought, but I read a thread here from a couple of years back that was questioning whether that can be done because of the line up of holes. Not having anyone around here that carries what I want, I can't verify. Ideally, I'll be able to find a dealer that sells both and can put together a package for me...Ideally...

Thanks for the reply, I was more asking about the choice of wing design and lift capacity for the type of diving you'll be doing.

You should have no problems mixing and matching, the only issue I'm aware of were the old H Pionneers, the only thing you might lose is a package deal discount.

As far as wing design, I couldn't really tell you. DR seems to be the wing of choice for NE wreck divers, but Oxycheq mentions cavers on their site. I'll be doing both types of diving eventually, so I need something that will work in both environments. I think 50# of lift should be enough for the most extreme diving. I'll probably eventually get lower lift wings, but I'd rather get what I'll need for drysuit, doubles, etc now and get the smaller stuff later.

And yes, the package deal discount does keep coming to mind...

The package-deal guys also sell Oxycheq. Maybe they would make you a different deal.

Sorry. Damn withdrawl.
