Anyone know why Scubapro/Uwatec sell their Oxy2/Aladin Air ZO2 combination for semi-closed circuit rebreathers but not fully closed?

The answer to your question is on Janwillem's The Rebreather Site in form of a PDF file: http://www.therebreathersite.nl/Downloads/AlladinXandCCR.pdf

While this makes sense, there is a guy or two in Australia who use the combo with CCRs (converted manually controlled Dolphins, if memory serves me right). Considering the price of the combo I'd rather use a HS Explorer (or DeltaP VR2 or VR3), which can be plugged into the Dräger Oxygauge connector.

Thanks for the reply, and the humour! That makes sense, it does work, kind of, but you've got to be careful with it. As to your alternatives, I know everyone eulogises the VR3 but I think their 'Confuse-a-Customer' instruction manual would soon have me condemning it to a deep, watery grave! And the trailing wire down the arm definitely isn't as sexy as the remote! The Explorer I have no knowledge of.

The Explorer I have no knowledge of.

Prices are high in Oz, they make do with what they have.
The Explorer is a 10 gas O2/N2/He computer, same O2 cell hook-up as the VR3. Does real RGBM, as well as several other algorithms. Your choice.
Check the board under 'Explorer' and the 'RGBM' thread.
And their website at http://www.hs-eng.com/

Mmmm? Good spec. but just look at the thing. Is somebody knocking them out in their garage of an evening! Don't wish to be unkind but give some thought to design as well as function guys!
