So does anyone know the hydro test pressure for a steel 72. From what I have heard its 1.5 times the rated fill pressure or 5 thirds. my plan is to just hot fill to 3000 and top off later to keep them around 3k psi. the 72's should work better for sidemount than the al 80's which are buoyant. thanks
 
If it is a true 5/3's test pressure it should be 3750.

That is correct.

All 3AA steel cylinders are hydro tested using 5/3 of the stamped pressure.

Some of the Special Permit cylinders use only 3/2 for the testing pressure.

Right, I knew there were some that were tested to 3/2, I just couldn't remember which ones.
