My thought was it'd be great if you had a regular cattle boat service out to the wreck for an all day trip. Leave early, 2 hour ride, do 3 tanks, and head back before dark. Serve lunch on board. Id pay $100 for that.

if you had 10+ divers doing it.

$200 for fuel, assuming the boat is inefficient; $1,000 gross, the remainder goes towards the boat and captain. Figure $100 to serve lunch with sodas and such, if you want a "really nice" food setup?

Not a bad living, quite honestly. $700 for a day's work, even figuring that half that goes towards the boat? So $350 for the captain, or a bit over $40/hour?

That'd work.

Of course if you get 20 divers on the cattle boat then it REALLY looks nice from an economics standpoint.

Well, a dive like this shouldnt be any problem. Especially since itll attract multiple skill levels. If you have a cattle boat dedicated to it, especially with nitrox capability, it should be a good money maker.

If she doesn't end up sitting upright, will she be divable by recreational divers in the spot they are talking of sinking her????

The beam is claimed to be some 147'+; if so, yes, as the sinking site is in roughly 220' of water.

So if she ends up on her side, she's still diveable.

The only "really bad" position would be if she was to turn turtle during the sinking.

It is 159 feet from the keel to the top of the island; add 55 feet for navigational clearance and you are looking at 215 feet to the bottom. This does not take into consideration settling, which will probably add at least 10 feet in depth in the short-term, possibly more in the long term depending on the bottom.

is sandy. It will settle some, but exactly how much cannot be determined in advance, of course.

Its definitely diveable within recreational depths, but the best dives will be just beyond that point. The hanger deck should be an awesome dive; I and my DV cam are both looking forward to it :)
