I think as long as there not wearing speedos, it's all good.
 
Rockpile, not switching from metal (long lasting unbreakable) to plastic (throw away) regulators is not an example of not adapting. It's an example of the older equipment being better than the new. Refusing to use a BC would be an example of not adapting.

Hey ...I resemble that statement !! You're probably just jealous.

Not all men over the age of 40 hang over the waist string of their bathing suits. Besides, I only wear them to dive. On board aftewards I wear soccer style shorts and rinse out the speedo for the next dive.

Walter, you're splitting hairs with me. Not switching to lighter regulators is a perfectly acceptable example of not adapting, whatever the reason.

True, but some of the older stuff is more durable and simple (less of Murphy's Law to go around), which is good.

I like my old equipment, It works great, I don't see much difference in the performance of my old equipment compared to new equipment. I think it's the skills of the diver that determines your ability and not the equipment.
