The New York Times has an article but I don't have a subscription. Perhaps you can read it, as I did above the request for subscription.

Here’s an archive link to the full article: https://archive.is/6nRGD. A little more detail late in the article.

There was mention of a GMA interview; does anyone feel like summarizing relevant details? Curious about more on the separation, curious about equipment rumors (SMBs, AIS/DSC devices,…)

I know someone who was on that trip.
It was bad for the others on that trip. I do hope that they can all find the support they need.

?

Everyone survived including the victims.

It wasn’t like they got abandoned, Fling stayed and searched

Right, poor word choice on my part. I edited it to "others."

Yes, I am sure it did, which was stressful for all, which was what I referenced.

Having spoken to the Captain on the boat, the pucker factor was between high and extreme. Having been in the exact situation, I could relate.

It's sobering to think about what those moments must have been like for everyone aboard or in the water. I think I'll go hug my family.

There are many different news articles on the couple and the incident of course. Here are some excerpts from one...

Nathan shared, "They were like, 'We're gonna pick you up and get you in the boat.' And we had no strength. You see this right? I'm like. I don't know if that's gonna happen. They're like 'We got you.' They reached down, they literally plucked us from death."

He explained, "I literally start crying. I'm trying to... hug the boat captain. I'm behind him. And I'm putting my arms all over him."

"'Let me drive, sir. let me drive sir,'" the captain said.
🤣
However, they encourage everyone to celebrate Coast Guard Day on Aug. 4.

I only scuba private charter, my life is worth the costs. Why is USA and Australia bad? BAD SERVICE.
I fail to see how a private charter in this scenario would have turned out any differently. The divers weren't forgotten. The boat couldn't find them because of distance and bad weather.
