KelpCoasters:
So far I've heard really good things on this company. Can't seem to find an online supplier though....

Anybody got an idea on price range?

Thanks everybody. You've all been very helpful.

Kelpcoaster,
MSRP on that suit is about $500. They don't allow dealers to advertise online so you won't find anything online. I know a store in nor-cal that quotes $350, but its not advertised. PM me if you are interested and I can put you in touch.

Thanks Justin.
Actually did some more looking around over the weekend and found one for $300. Totally reasonable, if the suits as good as everyone says. Now, I just have to go try one on and see if I can slip a skin under there.
Thanks again.

I say ditto that the super-stretchy material is the best.

I'm looking for a wetsuit that's stretchy w/ an attached hood. Someone said that the Excel's w/ hood are stretchy, but their website doesn't really talk up the stretchiness of the material.

A) Can anyone confirm that the Excel's are stretchy?

B) Can you name any other cold water suits w/ attached hood that are stretchy.

Thanks.

KC-I dive a Henderson that I got from Scubatoys (one piece-no attached hood) for about 249 I beleive..? It has been perfect for me...

Good luck in the quest!

Drewp-

Is that one of the "Hyperstretch" line? If so, were you able to find the full 7 mil on Scubatoys, or is your suit a 7/5? If it is a 7/5, do you use a hooded vest or something under?
Thanks.

I'd like to know the same thing Chavodel. I agree, they don't talk up the stretchiness too much but they do mention that the arms and leg backs are thinner/stretchier for ease of donning/doffing.

I dove the chilly waters of Monterey for a couple of years in a Henderson 7mm "semi-dry" and really liked it. OK...I've since gone to drysuit, but I pack my semi-dry in case of the unfortunate leak or seal tear. Has a nice "shark-in" lining which makes getting in and out pretty easy. Has a sleeve that goes over the head to minimize water circulation, and the built-in hood kept it fairly minimal. Only when I moved my head in one particular position did I ever get a trickle of fresh, cold water down the back.

Happy diving...
