Yah, I looked around for the old fart with a shark tooth, but couldn't find one :P

Tomorrow maybe!

Hey, I was there
sortta
well I did walk by on my way to dive n surf in the afternoon
all they have bp style is dive rite stuff (looks like a converted jacket) would still need lotsa lead.
Does DSS have a local dealer?
I found a Halcyon dealer, stuff looks sharp. probably cut my wallet to shreds:maniac:

Tomorrow? what time?
I can bring my basics and you can laff your n%#s off watching me try another beach entry. Maybe if I stuff bubble wrap in my suit I won't sink:rofl3:

lol. It was like a bathtub today, comparatively speaking. But don't worry about it, we're always happy when we walk in and walk out. Vet's can be a coin toss.

Should be there at 11, but I've been feeling sick, so I may not dive again. I had equalizing issues today from congestion. My regular buddies will be there, though. Look for the black Audi A3 and black old Jaguar with two sets of doubles and deco bottles.

I know they carry DSS gear at Ocean Adventures Dive Co up in Venice (on Lincoln). Don't know of any other local dealers, but there may be some.

Yay! Venice is much closer & easier to get to
i been having sinus probs for a few days too, but i don't dive yet sooo.
as for entry, I just picked the worst day in 2 weeks to try and do something i haven't done in 20 years. you know how it is, i just got new stuff and had to try it NOW. not going today was just wrong but, it's too cold, by the time i get past the surf i'll have a headache and have to come out anyhow(thats my story and im sticking to it).
if i have any luck in the am at malaga maybe i'll waddle up to vets and look at some equipment in the field. if i get pounded again i'll go look for a pool to see if i can even tread water. i can't believe this ole suit doesn't have any buoyancy left in it.

Don't know if anyone is still reading this thread but if you are
.
I don't seem to be able to run out of questions.
For sake of clairity, IF i were to get a BP/ssW and will be using a full 7mm suit with a steel 100.
Would a 30lb wing be enough at max rec depth?

Would that be a stainless steel wing :D ?

Yes, that should be fine. I've dived that combo many times. Note, however, that there are differing opinions on how much lift you need for redundancy among the team.

Lord almighty I hope that was just a typo:rofl3:

I went and looked at DSS & dive rite but the store leans dive rite (more money)
I'm frustrated again because even dealers have and push preference.

Which dealer?

The DSS was nice except it was cluttered with harness extras and disconnects for advanced diving and still cheaper than the dive rite. The salesman use it as a bad example. Made a negative comment about Halcyon and never mentioned them again.

The DSS can be purchased in one of two harness configurations. One with the quick disconnects (most likely the one you saw) and the other with the one piece hogartian harness (what I dive). Best suggestion, is contact DSS in Pasadena and order if from them on the net.
