ok so we have been to Cozumel and back this week. We were not able to dive at all thanks to Hurricane Paula. We were suppose to do a discover scuba class at ProDive. The staff was great there but the Allegro hotel needs some help. So we are trying to plan another trip just to go and try and dive asap.. Good luck to the other who head that way.

Hi everyone!!! I made a last minute change and I am diving with Aldora! So happy with the service. We did Punta Sur Sur, San Francisco and San Juan (amazing drift dive and lote of life). Today we did Colombia, Colombia shallow and Villa Blanca Drop off!!! All dices over 60 minutes!!! This is my first time in Cozumel but already planning to come back on February!!!

Sounds wonderful. I'm glad this worked out for you -- I know you posted awhile back that you were worried about the weather this week.

Back home.
Paula really wasn't much. Just a bit of wind and water that did very little if any damage. The harbormaster shut down the west side for three days but Aldora did get out on the east side at least on thursday. Thanks to Paula we didn't get many dives in but we did get in three days of eating and drinking out way around the island!

We decided to push our trip back a week and use our trip insurance although I'm too sure it saved us much money as the plane tickets doubled so we had that extra expense. We also changed hotels from Allegro to the Grand. The Grand was a little more but not much. We will still be diving with Pro Dive and will just have a short walk to catch the boat. It looks like we would not have missed any diving but when you go to dive it just made me a bit nervous wonder about the weather. O'h well, its just made us that more excited about getting there. We will just have to share the reefs that week with Mawg and his group instead of just one day!!

We had a great week in Cozumel even with having to take a few days off because of Paula. We doubled up some of our dives prior to and after. Saw a lobster that was about 4 - 5 ft. I didn't even know they got that big. And enjoyed our extra days seeing the island, saving baby sea turtles, atv'ing and eating at Coconuts. (And I think I remember something about a swim up bar in there also) Couldn't have asked for a better time, all things considered.
