The President was made aware of the problem with Lionfish and if we need his support it will be forthcoming. He really does care about the beautiful reefs here and I am very proud that we were able to show him why.

Congratz on escorting el presidente! Truly an honor!

ahhh That explains why I saw so many machine guns in town and at the airport this time.

Is the president also aware of all the trash along the shores?

Here's a photo after we paid $10 entrance fee to Punta Sur. I wonder where all these monies are being spent?

Dear Elletek,

It is not possible for Mexicans to do anything about the trash other than daily clean up. It all comes with the current from the Eastern Caribbean nations who use the ocean as their dump. Indeed, one of the messiest places I've ever seen was the small park at the east end of Little Cayman Island who gets theirs from Jamaica.

On that subject I have repeatedly tried to get the other dive shops to set up a beach cleaning program on the East Side of Cozumel. Like having every KM being sponsored by a different shop and having a sign like we have on our highways. No luck so far but it is still a good idea.

Dave congrats.

I have also had the pleasure of a private dive with Memo. It was special at the time, but now I am in the same league as EL Presidente!!!

Just one question, is El Presidente a robe wearer?

Last month I spent every afternoon on the east side from punta sur to the north light house. The beach was the cleanest I have seen it in the past ten years. Good job, keep up the good work!

I have never been approached about this nor have I ever seen any information about it - but I have participated and do participate in regular beach clean-ups.

It's a great idea - and I am certain that my crew would be more than willing to participate.

Hope that the prez tipped well.

I guess El Presidente heard Scubaboard is Invading Cozumel and wanted to pave the way for us. :rofl2:

The big question...Is El Presidente one of the lurking anonymous celebrity Scubaboard posters?
