well, it is not so much an issue of "digging" for me - and I think we all occasionally have to touch soemthing to stabilize ourselves - or maybe I'm just in need of more diving - which reminds me - anyone wanna go dive today?

However, my main reason to worry is that I have to hold or touch in order to stabilize my camera, now, I'm not one of the people who wears kneepads and plant my self on the bottom - somehow that is just not conducive to taking pictures.
But I do need to be very still to get some of my images and I often have to just rest a finger to keep the camera still - I know this is not optimal - but with current and other things - it's hard not to.

As far as tye dipping goes - I think I was thinking more of the touch pads to be dipped as opposed to the whole finger - I'm not planning to punch any sharks in the face down there anytime soon... ;-)

Cheers,
Big T

No kidding.... see I thought you were digging for clams under the stern of the Chaudiere.... Hmmm.... stabilizing for a long exposure shot though.... Hmmm .... interesting ;)

Diving!!! Today!!! :D gear is already wet and if I go diving I won't have to feel bad about not rinsing it.... yes.... I'll go.... where???

BTW have you looked outside? It is blowing a blizzard from the south here....

All I can see is sun, sun, sun baby!!! Temperature is easily in the mid to upper 80s. I think I am sneaking off to dive now... thanks for the idea!!! I think I will even leave the "exposure suits" behind.

To all DIR devotees

Hypothetical: if you were suddenly introduced to a new, different method of diving, that was tried and true and found to be better , yes better than DIR (heaven forbid), would all you advocates of bettering yourselves rush out and learn the new philosophy? And would DIR then be relegated to the lowly rank of stroke?

i'm sure I'm neither the first nor last to be pretty insulted by the assumption made by total strangers who have never dived with me that just because I don't dive DIR, I'm some kind of flake with no interest in self improvement, and a gross danger to myself and others in the water.

Come on! There's a bigger world out there beyond the ends of your noses.

Sure .... let's hear it. :)

Ummm.... See Squirt...
I looked at the picture of your new and different method of diving....

And I was wondering....

Can I still wear my dry gloves because the water is really cold here....

Or is it important to get the full finger flextion thing going?
