November 2012 Cozumel???

My Boyfriend and I will be there November 10-18th...we are staying at the Sabor...it's been about 10 years since I've been to Cozumel to dive...anyone have a favorite shop that will pick us up at the Sabor? Boyfriend and I are both advanced cert, and dive frequently here in SoCal. I tend to prefer smaller groups for diving, and really prefer shops that will seperate divers based on skill rather than put a group of divers of varied skill set on a boat and cater to the newest diver. I also love to photograph...but will gladly leave camera behind for drift dives Based on that...anyone have a favorite shop/dive guide that sounds good for us? We also were thinking of trying to to some beach dives, maybe do boat diving in the am, beach diving in the afternoons...take as much advantage of that warm water as possible before returing to chilly SoCal! So if anyone has any recommendations for best beach dives..would love that advice too! Like I said, it's been a long time since I've dove in Cozumel..last time I was there my kids were younguns, managed to dive in the early hours and play with the family the rest of the day..but this time it's all about diving all the time..yeehaw!......... and we would also love to join up everyone if possible for a boat dive/drinks after...

Assuming you mean the Sabor hotel section, there is no pier directly in front of it. The south pier is in front of Aura Hotel and there is the north pier.

Almost any dive op will pick up at either pier. I don't know if there is still a per diver/day fee at the southern pier. There have been some threads on this lately or maybe someone will post the latest.

For recommendations, you can see above who I use - one boat in operation - six pack. You may get varied groups but we are experienced. You can try larger operations with multiple boats that say they separate by skill. Dive length will depend on how the operation deals with who comes up first or in groups.

The dives in Cozumel will be mostly drift but I take my camera on any dive I want. Another of our group will have his camera.

There really isn't any shore diving around Sabor. We haven't done much shore diving except years ago at Chankanab but there are other spots. There are some shore diving threads in the Coz section.

My husband and I are diving with living underwater. Fast boats, 8 divers max. Picks up at most piers and does surface intervals at a restaurant on the beach. We are there almost the same time frame...12-20th, maybe can meet up for drinks/dinner and share stories!

Afternoon boat goes out @ 1:00. I have been hoping for a big enough group to go later in the day on their big boat for one tank. So if the group is small, maybe we just get together on a 1:00 regular two tank trip. Or maybe we can see if BA will do a single tank late in the day. Somewhere close so it's economical for them.

I am nearing my one month countdown date. :banana::banana: So at least I got that going for me, which is nice.
