I agree with Drew! Grand Cayman is the place to go.
Leaving for Cayman in 16 more days, and not afraid to leave the US at all.

Belushi and I have been discussed going to Sudan or Marsa Alam end of August/beginning of September.

We were discussing it before all the you know what started, but we are still talking about it! I'm not going to let anything keep me away from the holiday I want! :D

scubababy, the diving is excellent at marsa alam, i booked through oonasdivers who were by far the cheapest, but like i said they were definitely not in a friendly mood towards us on several ocassions, because they thought we had attacked Iraq, now that this has actually happened, i would give it a wide birth until they have sorted it out and really started rebuilding it and have shown a definite good intent and not just for the oil

clive - I know where your coming from! If we were to go it would probably be through Regal as Belushi use to work for Emperor divers and I'd be happier to go with a company we know after having some bad experiences with another dive centre!!!

The fact is, even before all of this - or sep 11 - being an American outside of the US is not the greatest thing. Around the world Americans are not perceived in the friendliest manor. Why that is is a whole other thread.

I know that when we travel, we always have Canadian flags on us, with the sole purpose of making sure we're not assumed to be Americans. I also know some Americans who also where Canadian flags when traveling for the same purpose. You get treated a lot differnt when people find out you're Canadian, and not American.

Given the events of the last few days, I would certainly be very careful where you travel. Even as a Canadian (who's country wussed out), I'd be careful. I most definately would not go to a Arab country.
