With a big group, the heck with the bus. Get a van for 800 peso for everyone. Van would be way cheaper than the bus for a group.
Ha! It is MX and you may have to share this van with livestock and or grab on for dear life on the side of the bus.

If you're attempting to make a joke, OK, fine. Next time you might consider a smiley face of some sort.

If you're serious, you don't know what you're talking about, and should spend more time getting rid of air in private.

Hey man apologies, it was an attempt at sarcasm-Just didn't realize I needed to confirm it with a smiley.
:(

To me the bag drag is no big deal. I just make it part of the vaction. Van ride to playa with beverage of choice. Leisurely ferry ride to Coz very relaxing. Then 5 minutes to hotel easy & fun for me.
Yep, non-stop to Cancun with the bag drag certainly beats connecting anywhere on the way to Cozumel. There can be some possible issues, but overall it's the great approach.

Vic - you saved my a$$. Definitely going to do bag drop. Flight leaves Newark at 7am- gets into Cancun around 10:30am. Should be at hotel around 2pm. Really sweet.

I guess only risk is on way back in case ferry is canceled. Does that happen often?
You never know how many flights will land right before you in Cancun so I&C is an unknown, but usually goes quickly enough. As several of us have mentioned, reserve your own vans to meet you. There is always a chance of road problems on the way to PDC, but that usually goes quickly. Just grab porters at PDC to get on the ferry, one-way tickets on the next one leaving - not round trip tickets, more porters at the Coz dock, cabs will be waiting - but agree on rates before boarding. There is always a chance of a rough crossing so warn those who are prone to motion sickness.

Also I saw you are looking in April for your trip, Book with confidence I think there is no chance of ferry getting cancelled.
Small chance, but weather is fickle. Check early & often, then adjust.

You have never been on one have you? How stupid.

Be sure to have reserved vans waiting for you on your return to Cancun and allow plenty of time to get there early for your return flight.

Anyone have any experience in booking these vans? I'm a bit clueless here...

While the "Bag Drag" is certainly an option for some people, it may be worth spending the extra few dollars to go direct to and from CZM directly. Personal preference I guess.

Can you just not get a several large cab vans? I've seen quite a few of these at least on Cozumel?

Last time I searched, (Google is your friend), they were all fairly close in price. While many have their favorites, I don't think that there's a real skunk among them.

Depending on your home airport, it can mean hundreds more to fly into CZM. Multiply that by a family of 4, (or more), and you're talking a lot of money.
