Depending on your home airport, it can mean hundreds more to fly into CZM. Multiply that by a family of 4, (or more), and you're talking a lot of money.
Fair-I guess in all my travels to Coz, I never even bothered going via Cancun. And I travel solo so the extra headcount doesn't apply to me.

While the "Bag Drag" is certainly an option for some people, it may be worth spending the extra few dollars to go direct to and from CZM directly. Personal preference I guess.

Did you actually read my initial post?

The reason for that post IS THAT THERE IS NO NON-STOP from Newark, NJ. (Or LGA or JFK) and I don't want to go through Chicago, Atlanta or Houston.

So what exactly are you saying that adds any value here?

Sorry dude, was just trying to offer insight as general info. Sorry you had to use all caps. If you do cannot fly direct from your chosen airport, then going the bag route may be your only option.

Can you just not get a several large cab vans? I've seen quite a few of these at least on Cozumel?
This coming from someone who evidently has never done it, never been there.

Airport, dates, and numbers have been discussed.

True, I have never gone the Cancun route, I was just asking a general question as another option to renting a large van.

And you are confusing the thread with incorrect remarks. It's often best to leave the discussion to those who know because they have done it.

Hey man, that's fair.

@tridacna, best of luck to you-Cozumel is awesome drift diving, and hopefully you'll see some Eagle Rays and even hear the Splendid Toadfish at night.

Anyone have any experience in booking these vans? I'm a bit clueless here...

Google "Cancun Valet". We've been using them for a decade to get to PA. Every van has been nearly new, clean, with a very helpful and courteous driver.

To PA? Where is that on the peninsula...?

There are several to chose from and months to decide. Be sure to explain that you'll have 12-15 divers with gear and book a few vans.

Yep, non-stop to Cancun with the bag drag certainly beats connecting anywhere on the way to Cozumel. There can be some possible issues, but overall it's the great approach.
Suit yourself, but connecting in Houston from Austin is nowhere near the trouble for me that flying into Cancun is. The Bag Drag can be kind of fun on the way down, but on the way back, not so much. IMO, of course, and DSFDF.
