In Mactan there are 2 really good spots: Hilutugan and Nalusuan. These are the marine protected areas. Then there're the house reefs Hadsan, Tambuli, etc. Apparently you can even catch whale sharks in the channel not far from the house reefs. All in all, I like diving there.
Then Bohol, Moalboal, and Malapascua are all accessible. If diving is your passion, then you've struck gold when visiting the in laws.
Cebu is a great place for that.

you guys are bad.
I wanted the camera first before the AOW . . seriously all you need is practice. AOW is just one hell of an expensive DIVE . . . If you're an open water diver, just keep on diving you'll get on with your buoyancy in no time.
