Liability for anything that could happen during club related activities. I would not be an officer in any club or organization that didn't have insurance that covered club officers and staff.

Simple, no organization no liability

What is the purpose of the club? Fellowship? Networking? Own assets for all to use like a compressor?

Dissolve the club.

Hey, we're just a bunch of friends that happen to communicate casually, often meet for drinks and talk scuba - a shared interest - and sometimes we go dive together. Sometimes somebody brings a grill to the dive outings and we have hot dogs. If one of our friends does something ill-advised and gets hurt or dead, well, we'll miss them, but fate pointed its finger and it sucked to be them that particular day and we'll see that their other gear finds a good home.

They will lose the use of the pool, the corner of the lake, and all of the other things that the club provides.

Sadly, this is likely to be the case.

You lose all privileges, access, etc. Any time you "act like a club/organization" and the leaders act as such, somebody gets hurt -----> they are responsible.

You don’t need to even know the other person, act stupid and they get hurt same, no deep pocket in sight no lawyer will bother.

That’s very true, nothing to take then not worth the time to deal with it. Lawyers don’t work for free. A nice fat insurance policy is nothing more than a ripe piece of fruit begging to be picked.
