Considering your requirements I would go for a zoop or a puck pro. I personally like the puck pro as it does everything 99% diver will ever need, including nitrox and gas switch.
It also has a very durable glass screen (better than the cheap plastic that you find on similar category), is big enough to be readable in all conditions, is virtually indestructible, and is the cheapest option out there...

I'm selling two Zoop computers for $60 each. We are upgrading to $1,200 computers.

Suunto computers are fine, they're more conservative that computers that use other algorithms. That means that Zoops give you a greater margin of safety without pushing you closer to decompression injury.

Suunto is great if you like poor quality control and horrible costumer service

LOL
I've used a variety Suunto bottom timers, free-diving watches, and dive computers for two decades, never had any issues with the software or hardware.

Once I contacted Suunto customer service to get screen protectors for my Zoop, as they weren't available in the USA at the time. Suunto immediately shipped me two screen protectors for free.

Check to see if the computers you’re considering have a backlight that stays on or if you have to press a button for it. Also, how are your eyes? A color display might be something to consider if you have vision issues. Much easier to see.

Marie, thanks! I ended up heading further into that rabbit hole a bit last night. The Deep6 looks like their algo
Hi @MacDuyver

I would go with the Deep 6 Excursion. Buhlmann ZH-L16C decompression algorithm with presets and custom GFs, and other features like SurfGF. At the lower end of your price range.

The computers you list vary greatly in the conservative to liberal spectrum of their decompression algorithms. You might want to understand that before making your decision.

Note: the Excursion is the same size as the Genesis Centauri and Crest CR-4

Sorry, missed you are in Japan, might not work for Deep 6, you want to make sure you can easily get service if needed.
I’m in Japan, however I’ve got easy reach back to the States. I would be able to get it done, it’s just going to take some pretty advanced planning. Pain for sure, not quite a deal breaker though.

I was looking a bit into the ratios, and was intrigued by how the Deep6 does theirs.

Peregrine is just a step too far budget wise for now, I’ll likely be getting a shearwater in the future, right now though it’s not in the cards.

Good choice.
I just did a lot of computer research myself.
My wife and I are both upgrading to the Shearwater Teric, $1,200 + $400 for the AI module
