can anyone here point me in the right direction so i can log some 100-130ft nitrox dives......need to get some logged before i can take some of these deep courses....thanx in advanced

Remember, your MOD for 32% is 110. To get to 130, you'll need to have a shop blend some 28% for you. Personally, I don't see a whole lot of advantage for nitrox below 110'.

What deep courses are you interested in taking that would require dives like that?

There will PLENTY of chances for those kind of dives during our "Invade the Keys" in July! Fun, frolic and fellowship as 150+ (we hope) ScubaBoard Divers descend on the Keys. You can get help with all sorts of diving issues as there will a number of experienced divers as well as instructors and former instructors there to give you pointers!

Head to West Palm or anywhere else on the East Coast. You won't find many charters on this side that will take you out that deep. It's too far for them to travel. I have to agree with Dive-aholic. Once you get below 100' there isn't a lot of difference in my opinion. If you are just looking to get deep for the sake of getting deep you can do Hudson Grotto. I think it goes down that far. I hit 105' there. You won't see much but you will log some deep dives.

I don't agree with this at all.
We use 30% for 120 feet, with air your bottom time is 13 minutes, with EAN 30% its 19 minutes.
That is just about a 46% improvement.
Then add the fact that you off gas faster on your safety stops.

There are a lot of good wrecks in lake Erie in the 110-130 foot range.
We dive them all summer long.

It's a good place to practice 120'-130' dives in a low visibility situation.

Now if we could just get git-r-dun to follow us around the lines on the bottom :D

We'll do it next time. I'll follow you around the bottom. Now that I have the first one in a trip around the bottom shouldn't be a problem. I'm actually about to buy another wetsuit that is heavier so I can handle the cold a little better when I dive with you drysuit guys. Maybe in a couple of weeks we can hit it on a Sunday or something. My Saturdays are going to be booked up for a while.

I stand corected on the nitrox / air difference. See you learn something new everyday. I really didn't think it would matter that much but I guess I can see it.

EAN I need a recommendation on a dive light. One that will put out some light down there that won't cost me a fortune. Any suggestions from you or the other tech guys will be great. I'm not even sure where to start.

Hello, With looking at your profile you showing you only have about 50 dives. Your just starting off. I would suject getting comfortable in the water first in the 20-50ft range. once you get to 60-130ft you get affects from Nitrogen narcosis. (narked)

A nother thing is did you take the Nirtox class? If you did you would now what mixes you need for your dives and what saftey idems you need ( talked about in Deep class and AOW) such as larger tanks for spare air, lights, exe. from 90-130 your bottom time is not long so you can esaly go into deco and not have air to complete the dive saftely. I would sugest not worrying about depth and learn the skillsand experance first. Then go for depth.
