Hey, if you guys & gals want, I have a 35 min. video from my trip to Palau and Yap that I produced when I give programs to various organizations. I do a live narration as it plays. (only background music is on the program) If you want, we could warm up in the office during a SI, drink some coffee or hot chocolate, and watch the program:popcorn: --with or without the narration. I'll bring it along with me just in case. Man, I hope the weather doesn't crash this party!!

Sounds great!

Wow - you guys/gals must be hard core. I don't think my 7 mil suit could handle January temps at Gilboa. I was thinking of making a trip to Mt. Storm in March if the power plant is running and heating up the lake. Otherwise I'll probably be waiting until the warm April sun heats up the water here in central Ohio. I guess there are advantages to dry suits.

Do belive this one's been done wet a few times - chime in here, Ken if I'm mis-speaking! In any event, don't let that stop you from coming out for a good time, and BTW Barracuda does put on a GREAT show and if the weather just doesn't support diving we can sip hot beverages and enjoy the company & the show!

Put me down as a tentative yes! I'm about 80% sure I can be there NYD. :)

Scheduled to get the day of and the 2nd off, so I should be there. I am just hoping I can get a few friends to go with me. I usually go with the Rec Diving group and as far as I know, and Jim they are not planning to go. Hopefully that will change. Anyways AS of now I will be there.

We can be your friends! Don't be shy, there are plenty of dive buddies to go around :D

Actually the water is warmer in January than in April ;) Your 7mm suit will be fine for at least one dive, the quarry is no colder than the tubes are every day and may be a bit warmer. Bring along a gallon of warm water to fill your suit right before you stride in to keep the cooler water at bay ;) We'll be happy to help you pour the water in your suit to keep you comfy!

schu1842,

For Christmas, ask Santa for a 5mm hooded vest. Put this under your 7mm suit (even better if it's farmer johns) and I'm telling you, you will be comfortable. I've dove the deep side of Gilboa in the Spring in that rig, and I was good for the 35 min. dive. Trust me.:eyebrow:---Really, I'm not kidding; it will work. My old Dryflex suit is such a bear to climb into that I opt for wet w/hooded vest many times. If the weather is at all decent on NYD, I will probably dive wet.

Burrrrrrrrrrrrrr...........

I'm getting major male shrinkage thinking of diving wet NYD! :shakehead:

I've done this one wet, what 3 years in a row now? The water ain't bad, if anythings going to get you on New Years Day, it'll be the surface interval if it's real cold and windy.

The water is quite a bit colder for the April Meet and greet. Then, my hands'll get numb in the 36* water.

So will you be diving wet this year for the sake of good old times?
