I'm a Fish!
Heading off to Maldives tomorrow.

Started my journey having my BIL drop me off at the High Speed Railway in Chiayi Taiwan to get to the Hyatt Airport Hotel which has a lower price deal for those flying with China Airlines. IF you have not been to Japan or Taiwan or France or China taking a journey on trains that can run at 350km/h is nice. Super smooth. As I am 4 hours away from the airport and my flight is at 8am I stay a night at the airport hotel. They have free shuttle buses from early am and the ride is around 15 minutes to Terminal 1 or Terminal 2. I am flying China Airlines.

So I arrive to Maldives at 10:30pm. I will spend around 6 hours in Singapore dawdling the day away need to visit HSBC Premier branch then might visit Marina Bay Sands.

My buddy and I then fly on 09 May to Fuvamulah Island with Maldivian Airlines. The owner of the Inn where we are staying got us return tickets for US$305

Now I bring a backpack as the overhead locker is not very spacious and my buddy's small hand carry bag did not fit in so he had it in front of his feet. Although Maldivian Airlines says 5kg weight they really did not check and I had over 10kg. This trip leaving some gear behind so now my carry on is 5kg.

We fly back to Male on 21 May and do another 5 days of diving from the island we stay at. We can walk around 1km to the dive shop every morning. So last diving day is 26 May but my flight leaves at 11:30pm on the 27th so plenty of time for off gassing. 30 plus hours.

The dive shop in Fuv only has 21% no nitrox.

Dang I wrote title with incorrect month. IT's MAY not March lol

My flight arrived and by the time I was at immigration counter was 10:30pm local time. Immigration officer was nice just just asked how long my stay was. When I replied leave 27 May he just asked to see my flight booking.

So my dive buddy his connecting flight missed due to flight from London delayed by Emirates due to technical issue. So instead of arriving yesteray at 3pm he arrived this morning at 6am. We stay at the same hotel. Just had breakfast and he is taking a few hours nap as he is on UK time. THen we have a 3pm flight to Fuvamulah Island. After we arrive we take our dive kit to the dive op and do the papers and gear.

We are diving wiith Fuvahmulah Scuba Club this time as they gave us a really good price as we will do around 35 dives. Time for a short nap then pack for flight to Fuv. Nice sunny weather here today.

A cheap way to get around Male is to download the AVAS Ride app. 85 Maldivian for rides around the island. A few dollars. Airport has free wifi as does just about every place you go so I never got a local sim card.
