They definitely produced the Cx100 turretless reg (I’m diving it).The original first stage (with the turret) was recalled. I'm not sure if the version without the turret was ever actually produced. Xdeep subsequently gave up on selling regs.

The recall of that first stage was quite a disappointment. Xdeep said that they could not reproduce the damage to the turret in the reported incident but recalled and discontinued it on the side of caution.
I wonder if any of the other turreted first stages on the market would have been able to withstand whatever caused the xdeep turret to fail.
I am sure it is asking too much for the person involved to provide more details as to what happened.

Apparently XDEEP are releasing a new first stage regulator Q1 2024. Has anyone heard any details about it?

I talked to Sebastian, the US distributer at DEMA. I don’t know if it is the same one, but apparently they are attempting to redesign the turret first stage with diff ent higher strength materials than before.

Here is an update.
Xdeep has decided to bring the manufacturing process completely in house to better control the production quality of the regulators. That is basically what has been happening since the recall.
The regulators are essentially the same design with the previously concerned components being strengthened.
The release has not yet been officially determined, but it is coming.

After that broad recall, the fact that Xdeep had been issuing regulators without any hoses, has now been rendered moot . . .

Personally, I would prefer that technically oriented first stages do not come with hoses.
I had a discussion with the Atomic representatives about that once. In the case of the Atomic M1 which is used frequently for decompression tanks, the 30/32 inch hose is inadequate. Almost everyone that I know has to replace it with a 40 inch hose.
If you have one first stage like the xdeep turret that might be used for single backmount diving, twinset backmount diving, sidemount, or deco / stage / travel gas the hoses will all be different lengths. Rather than have a pile of useless hoses, you can get which hose fits properly depending on the application.

That had to be a very expensive and painful lesson.
I'm wishing them the best of luck with their redesign. But as a dealer (?), could you please try to explain to them that their real competition in the US is Deep6, DGX, Dive Rite and maybe HOG Edge. All of these support at least some level of self-service and make service kits available. If they insist on following the old Scubapro/Aqualung/mares model, they are going to sabotage their efforts to reach their most likely group of potential customers.
