The testing requirement is not 24 hours but 1 day before which is a big difference.

From CDC website regarding flight delays-

If the first flight in your trip is delayed past the 1-day limit of testing due to a situation outside of your control (e.g., delays because of severe weather or aircraft mechanical problem), and that delay is 24 hours or less past the 1-day limit for testing, you do not need to be retested. If the delay is more than 24 hours past the 1- day limit, then you will need to be retested.

If a connecting flight in your trip is delayed past the 1-day limit of testing due to a situation outside of your control (e.g., delays because of severe weather or aircraft mechanical problem), and that delay is less than 48 hours past the 1-day limit for testing, you do not need to be retested. If the delay is more than 48 hours past the 1-day limit, then you will need to be retested.

These requirements are the attempt to do something to stop active cases sitting in a plane next to you and than walking around infecting others, it’s not politics even if it is inconvenient.

the no exception for those who are honest about vaccination status because there are millions of A holes who lie about it and care for no one but their own narcissistic selves, they also are the mutant breeders who are keeping this all going.

Thankfully I don't have to test to drive from Southwest FL to Southeast FL and back.

There are many places in Cozumel that offer results in a less than an hour. No need to panic. If traveling internationally may cause psychological damage or stress. If you are terrified your flight may be canceled and face retesting just don't put yourself in that situation. Stay in the US. Simple.

Well, I posted this in the Cozumel forum as I thought the only change was with Mexico. Wasn't the rest of the world already in the day-before requirement. We got our tests in Roatan the day before last July.
