I do sit at my desk alot....I run a dive shop and online store....I DONT work with Oceanic, so My response that THEY dont sit at a computer for 24hours should NOT be construde with what I do....again, I dont see your point....Just got back from diving, and Im back at my computer...for now. Im working on opening up a local quarry for our divers....Its winter time here, what more do you want me to do other than pick up business and give service to my customers? Im a dealer, thats what Im here for...Come summertime, you wont see me as much...as I will be diving....Plus I have been a member for a long time, you dont get 2000 posts just reading what other people say....and thats not from 1 year of being on SB either....again, I dont see your point...

Come on...the Jedi thing was creative....based on your website in your profile...I didnt just throw that out there, that wouldnt be creative...but based on your video game playing lifestyle and Star warsy website...I thought the shoe fit perfect :mooner:

I have no interest in stirring the pot of the back and forth that followed my earlier post (which seems almost unrelated to my underlying question). I'd just like an updated estimate from Oceanic of the delivery date. Of course, I don't want Oceanic to release the mask before it is ready. But their website used to say February '09 and that date has come and gone without a new estimate. There *must* be some idea within the company of when it will be fixed. If not, they should at least tell us it won't be before . . . June? July? Otherwise, all we can do is periodically bug our resellers or Oceanic.

And for the record, I love Oceanic's gear and I very much appreciate their participation in this board.

These are the posts that a marketer prays for - I just wish I had news that the mask was shipping today...

I do apologize to those that feel we have been less than responsive.

In addition to the typical product sampling and testing that we do, a number of masks were produced and sold at retail in Europe. This identified a variety of reports from the field. Without getting into the gory details, there are multiple issues, as there most always are, that we continue to identify and address throughout the product development process. I assure you, that while the frustration level for those of you that have been waiting for your mask is obviously high, you are no more frustrated than any of us.

This truly is one of the most amazing masks that I've worn - it's comfortable, it fits, packs flat - and has the best field-of-view that I've seen - but, painfully unavailable.

Here's what I do know:
- The standard version (all colors) metal frame will be a matte black finish, rather than the brushed aluminum that has been seen up until this point. Some of us pushed hard for an all-black with matte black frame - we showed it at DEMA, and all agreed that it was hot. I have liked the matte black frame all along - while it is different than what we originally envisioned, I'm sure that most of you will agree that it is an improvement.
- We are days away from completing what looks to be our last salt spray testing - we do this both internally and at an external lab.
- If all does indeed go well, we'll be in a position to begin shipping masks by the end of this month - there is a bit of rework and inspection that is going to make this a bit slow going, so it is hard to commit to quantities and exactly when they'll ship.
- The limited edition version - we have qualified a finish to match the original design goal - it is beautiful. We are continuing to qualify the laser engraving process - I do not have an update - these however, will surely follow the standard versions. Anyone that has these on order - your patience is greatly appreciated - and you're welcome, I'm sure to either hang in there, change your order to a standard mask, or cancel - that is ultimately up to you and the dealer, we'll be glad to help if we can.

I really hope this mask comes out within a month....my shadow mask is leaking and I NEED a new one by May. I would love one of these new pioneer masks, but if it's not out in another month, I'll have to look for something else.

In the mean time, maybe you should rethink your rude and condescending comments. Mike from Dive Right In Scuba has nearly 2,000 posts on this forum, either offering good advice or great deals to this community. You, on the other hand have 9, mostly harping on Mike for his explanation of the situation with Oceanic.

A limited number of masks will ship tomorrow. I've got a handful of them that I've secured for our friends here on scubaboard. This first shipment is the standard (now matte black) metal frame finish with red or slate blue accent colors. If you'd do just about anything to get your hands on one of these - and, you've got one on order through an Oceanic dealer - PM me the details (your name, dealer name and location) - I'll arrange to have your mask shipped to the dealer where your purchase was made.
