Yup.....Sorry to pass on bad news.....but at least they didnt just send them out to sell product. As Infidel said, their is a problem with the aluminum frame. They are sending out a letter to talk about this. Looks like its back to the factory to get these fixed.

I will apologize on Oceanics behalf, Im sure they will chime in at some point....

Not to stir the pot, but its a BADASS MASK!!! So if you can, be patient and wait....

Sorry to be the bearer of badnews...but feel free to buy something from us anyway :D LOL
 
Thanks Mike. As you can imagine, with tough economic times, the holidays, and an expensive R&D effort, our decision to reject our long-anticipated first shipment of Pioneer masks was not an easy one. The following is from a dealer notification sent yesterday -

Dear Valued Dealer,

This letter is to inform you that there will be a further delay in the shipment of the Pioneer Masks that you have ordered. Upon inspection of our first shipment we detected a fault in the coating process of the metal frame. This faulty process surely would have led to an extremely high percentage of problematic masks, eventually evolving into a high percentage of returns for both of our companies. We hope you understand and support this decision to not introduce this mask under these circumstances.

We are working to resolve this issue as timely as possible. We are planning to have resolution to this problem in the next 60-90 days. We hope that you will see your way to support this product at that time.

We apologize for the inconvenience this has caused you and your customers.

Meanwhile you could use the virtual version of your Pioneer Mask available in the new version of our dive simulator (released last night):

I ordered the Pioneer Limited Edition mask a while back. On the Oceanic web page it states the mask had issues & would be released in February. It is now March & the Oceanic web page still states the February release. Perhaps someone from Oceanic could make a post (from the looks of it, that wont happen either) to inform the people that have been waiting for "months". when exactly the mask will be released. Thx!
