Beginning October 1, 2012 SCUBAPRO “Warranty” and “Parts for Life” service interval will change from 100 dives or every twelve months to 100 dives or twenty-four months whichever comes first. The “Parts for Life” program will allow customers a period of twenty-four months to bring their equipment to an Authorized SCUBAPRO Dealer and the Authorized SCUBAPRO Dealer will have a one month grace period to have the regulator serviced for a total of twenty-five months or 100 dives, whichever comes first.

What does everyone think about this new policy?

Interested to see if my LDS got the same word.

I think it is great. Are they still going to require you to purchase everything up front to get the program and will it apply to older equipment (can I start bring stuff in every 2 years if I was under a program requiring annual service)?

Is this new policy retroactive for regulators that are currently in warranty and covered by the PFL program?

What is the purchase requirement to qualify for this program?

reinstatement?

hmmmm, is there an internal dive counter for the number of dives the reg has been subjected to??? ... I see that as a weak point for exclusion...

"sir, it appears you have made more than 100 dives on this reg without service, regrettably, this voids your warranty"....

I see it as backpedaling.... the damage has been done. And for the record, I own a ton of SP gear... unimpressed!

I'm sketchy on the details but, from our notice the program is reinstated but requires the purchase of a set of regs plus a BCD. Not sure if its retro active.

So, the only new thing is they have gone from a 1 year service requirement to a 2 year requirement. I have to wonder if they have switched to using the same extended life components that Aqualung and Atomic are now using.:shakehead:

I have to wonder if any of them are using 'extended life' components or if they just realized that people don't want to bring there stuff in every year and it isn't really needed.

Good news for us DIYers: that's the official confirmation that the soft parts last at least 100 dives. Factor in some safety margins, and we're not too far off from the 150 dives or so awap once reported.
