I am wondering as well if this applys to those already using the parts for life program ? I just had my second service
under the program and purchased my regulator set before it had been changed to require a complete gear purchase.

I'm sketchy on the details but, from our notice the program is reinstated but requires the purchase of a set of regs plus a BCD. Not sure if its retro active.

requires purchase of bcd/regulator and computer..as told by my sp tech..

My LDS was unaware of this. Can someone who had the SP communication PM me so I can put my LDS in touch? Thanks!

Beginning October 1, 2012 SCUBAPRO “Warranty” and “Parts for Life” service interval will change from 100 dives or every twelve months to 100 dives or twenty-four months whichever comes first. The “Parts for Life” program will allow customers a period of twenty-four months to bring their equipment to an Authorized SCUBAPRO Dealer and the Authorized SCUBAPRO Dealer will have a one month grace period to have the regulator serviced for a total of twenty-five months or 100 dives, whichever comes first.

What does everyone think about this new policy?

What does the highlighted text mean?

The dealer has a month to get the service done (that is sad all by itself) OR who is going to suffer what consequences? It sounds like the customer gets the shaft if the dealer takes too long to get the service done.

So they've essentially just admitted to having previously enforced a 'service every 12 months' policy that had zero grounding in their customers' saftey and total grounding in making SP more money. And the dive community is supposed to be excited just because they're backing off the thumb screws a little bit?

Thanks, I'll stick to a reg builder who's never played customer service/warranty games.

Beaverdivers more information is needed on whether this is a good or not.

Does this mean that they are going to now cover the people they screwed under the old policy if they had their regs serviced at 366 days or later? I would go into their area in the manufacture section to ask this question myself but the last time I asked them about parts in their section I was banned from it for life.

From my understanding of purchase requirements only the reg has to be scubapro the comp and bcd can be subgear or scubapro.

100 dives? that is incredible. That would require some serious divers to have to pay for the service associated with an overhaul 3-4 times EVERY year (or violate the terms of the contract)? Is SP going to require submittal of a log book to document dives? How does this work?

I let my parts for life expire and had planned to buy HOG's on Black Friday to replace my SP stuff. I need to know in the next couple of months whether this will be retro active as if it becomes two years mine will stall fall under warranty and the costs would be much lower. I "might" consider keeping my SP stuff if that is case.
