Add Helium will have a booth on Saturday at the seminar.

Also, rEvo Rebreathers will be represented by Peter Sotis at the CCR Summit on Sunday.

The NACD Seminar on November 5, 6, and 7 is less than 3 weeks away so I will update you on a few additions and remind you on some of Friday’s events.

Shearwater Research, Inc. and Add Helium will have booths at the seminar on Saturday. Also, the 4th CCR Cave Summit will be co-sponsored by RebreatherPro.com and RebreatherWorld. Finally, Paul Heinerth and Peter Sotis will be at the CCR Cave Summit on Sunday. An updated list of representation at the Saturday and Sunday events is at the end of this post.

We still have room at the Friday clinics if you wish to attend. The Photoshop workshop will begin at 1PM, and the Knot Tying workshop will begin at 3PM. Each event is scheduled for 2 hours. It is not too late to enter the Chili cook-off at the NACD Social on Friday night. The categories are Traditional, Hot, and Exotic. Let me know if you are interested in any or all of these events.

Regarding Friday night, please bring your families and children as there will be something for everyone. Enjoy good food, refreshments, meeting new friends, and socializing. I think you will get a bang out of the day.

You may register online by going to National Association For Cave Diving. Register by October 20th to receive a seminar t-shirt.

Registration for the 2010 NACD 42nd Annual Seminar on November 6 in Gainesville, Fl has been great especially over the last few days. In response to the recent increase in registration, the NACD Operation Manager has agreed to extend the T-shirt offer. Register by noon on Sunday, October 24th to receive your T-shirt. To take advantage of this offer, please register online, by fax or by calling Debra Green, the NACD Operations Manger. Unfortunately, registration by mail after today will not guarantee that it is received by Sunday.

On-line registration: NACD Online Store
Registration by fax: 386-497-3011
Registration by phone: 386-497-3494

The NACD has lined up some notable speakers giving informative presentations, some educational workshops, and some nice prizes for you to win. We hope to see you there.

The NACD Seminar on November 5, 6, and 7 is less than 4 days away so here are some final additions and changes.

The seminar on Saturday will be held in the same location; however, the name of the conference center has been changed. What was called the Clarion Inn and Conference Center is now the Gainesville Hotel and Conference Center. The address is still 7417 W Newberry Road, Gainesville, Fl 32605.

Innerspace Systems and Light Monkey will also have booths at the seminar on Saturday. An updated list of representation at the Saturday event is at the end of this post.

Interest in the Friday Clinics has been good, and we have added a regulator maintenance clinic. Bob Sheridan will be on hand for this clinic at Ginnie Springs Outdoors (GSO) at 4PM on Friday. This clinic will not be brand specific. We still have room at the other Friday clinics if you wish to attend. The Photoshop workshop will begin at 1PM, and the Knot Tying workshop will begin at 3PM – both at GSO. If you are interested in attending, please contact me or Debra Green (manager@safecavediving.com).

It is not too late to enter the Chili cook-off at the NACD Social on Friday night. The categories are Traditional, Hot, and Exotic. We will have a prize for each category winner and a gift certificate for the overall winner. Let me know if you are interested in any or all of these events.

Regarding Friday night, we encourage you to bring your families and children as there will be something for everyone. Enjoy good food, refreshments, meeting new friends, and socializing. I think you will get a bang out of the end of the day.

If you are an NACD member, GSO will give you free admission on Friday. There will be a $3 charge for non-members. During the weekend (Friday through Sunday), NACD members can dive for $15 a day. Also, if you are an NACD member and you purchase an annual pass from GSO during this weekend, the expiration date will be January 1, 2012, almost an extra two months. If you are not yet an NACD member, the savings will more than offset a one year NACD membership. Normal fees will apply on Sunday for non-divers or non-NACD divers.

You may register online by going to National Association For Cave Diving.

The 42nd annual NACD is over, and we appreciate everyone who helped make it a success. In particular, thank you to everyone who attended because this seminar is for you. Thanks to the volunteers who helped load, unload, set up, cook, etc. At the risk of leaving someone out, this included Marcel Buesch, Michael Stroeck, Red Sullivan, Ricky Dumm, Chris Corbett, Richard Rakus, Rick Palm, Bob Schulte, Elisha Gibson, Ben Bright, Don Symes, Shirley Kasser, and Bill Lester. We could not have done it without you.

On Friday night, we had a chili cook-off to determine who would win the coveted chili necklaces. Cory Mearns won the Hot category and Overall; Tim Lemaster won the Traditional category; and Amy Ferguson won the Exotic category. Congratulations to the winners and thank you to everyone who entered the contest. We appreciate Michael Menduno for judging the contest (even if I did not win&#61514:wink:

We had a great turnout at the seminar, fantastic speakers and topics, and a variety of vendors. Thanks to all of our friends who donated door and raffle prizes. Each year at the seminar, the NACD gives several awards to people who have made a difference. The award winners this year were:

NACD Instructor Award – Johnny Richards

Bill, Andrew, Jill, and Johnny – thank you for what you do and for all of your efforts over the last year. You help give cave divers and cave diving a good reputation. It means a lot to the rest of us to be associated with you.

Hope to see all of you at next year’s seminar. But before then, hope to see you at the CDF social on New Year’s weekend!
