in the letter I've seen there are a laundry list of violations that were all backed up by evidence (witness testimony, social media posts by rob, and videos he himself posted).
they were all sustained

Lord save us all from celebrity divers.
You forgot the "quotes", Frank. Only Strokes forget the "quotes". Don't make me start a rumor on your butt.

There are those who don't get quotes. You, me, the true celebrities.

The problem isn't that they were sustained, but that he was actively teaching non nacd courses and that he violated nacd rules while very likely teaching within that agency's rules. That essentially says that no matter the course, you're always teaching for nacd. Lawyers will decimate the organization in short order.

but this is all in their rules. this isn't something they made up special for Rob Neto.

"an NACD instructor shall not take divers beyond their certification level unless the dive is part of an NACD sanctioned course"

i dont have a dog in this fight so i dont understand the butthurt. maybe if i was friends with rob I would see the witch-hunt hidden in these documents

yea I did.

I'm an NACD member, but did not receive the email. I suspect it's because the membership database wasn't being updated/maintained around the time I re-joined.

If someone wouldn't mind sending me a copy, I'd much appreciate it.

Does this mean a sidemount instructor can never teach sidemount? A RB instructor can never teach a RB course once they join the NACD? Does the NACD have a trimix course? If not, then no more teaching trimix either....

According to how I have read it, no matter the course you are teaching you, no matter the cert agencies of your student nacd rules trump. Now that this has been precedented by nacd, I wonder if they are gong to clean their register of instructors for teaching TDI intro/full cave in side mount. I know several instructors who let their students use side mount at that level and teach the course in side mount. I mention this because the side mount specialty diver according to nacd requires full cave rating.

If I read the bylaws right, I'd disagree that you can't teach it in sidemount to sidemount students. It seems to me like you can't teach the specialty until after full cave, and you have to be in sidemount yourself.
