I really value the opinions of my fellow Scubaboardians so I would love feedback on my website.
(except for the length of the link... I know, I know but it is a free site through Earthlink and they can't change it now plus it is on my business cards already!)

Work in progress but your feedback will help me make it a good site.

Thanks!

I like it Renee!

I'm diggin' it chickie!! I think you should throw some underwater bubble sounds on there (like Brian has on his)...

Hi there,

I think its great. Clean uncluttered design, nice soft colours. I work with 1024 x 768 res and it resized without a problem.

Your HTML is clean and not bulky - so nice for a change, some people who use things like FrontPage have so much unnecessary HTML in there.

If you wanted to clean up the website address you can still register a domain name and point it to your Earthlink webpages. You can do this through any domain registrar for under $15/yr. However viewers of the page will still see your full Earthlink address unless you register with a registrar who also supports URL Masking.

An example of how it works: http://turnedwoodcollection.info actually is taking you to my AT&T free space at http://home.att.net/~stevesbowls/index.html

Notice the browser address bar shows turnedwoodcollection.info no matter what page you navigate to, that's the one downside of aliasing. However if you hover over a picture or link on the page notice that the status bar at the bottom of the screen changes to the actual page or link.

So it's possible to clean-up your website address and keep your existing webspace intact. You don't have to pay for new hosting, just domain name registration. I use Namesecure for this.

And I personally think it's a more professional look to have a .com or .biz name for your organization - and easier to refer customers to over the phone or in person if you don't have a card handy.

PM me if you have any other questions, I just stumbled on your post and probably won't be back through here again.

Steve

Nice. Ditto the clean, easy to navigate menus.

Thanks Y'all!
Peek at the calendar once and a while to see what I have for updates. (or to rag at me because it is outdated!)

SJSpeck - thanks for the suggestion. I'll look into it!

From the marketing/sales side of the page, what is the message? Would you like to sell me something? Put that message prominently on the page. You have a link to the page where your services are displayed, make it a highlight of the page.

Also, I would like to know more about the instructor. I don't want to dig around to find the qualifications.

This is all my opinion of course. Take it with a grain of salt please.

Joe

I like it. Clean and easily navigated through.

Just a heads up to those interested, I am a web designer. So, if you have any questions please let me know.
