I stopped taking Eliquis about a month ago. I just didn't have any symptoms associated with a pulmonary edema, so I stopped it. I've been second guessing that decision all month, and I'm so thankful that everything had been resolved.
If you had a PE you might want to consider asking the Hemotologist if it's time to stop anti coagulants. DOACs such as Eliquis serve to dissolve any residual clots.

I was taken off of Eliquis as when I bled the blood resembled dyed water w/fine sand settled on the bottom. I now use Xarelto that doesn’t give me that problem. It was prescribed for my AFIB. What a weird thing for an Rx to do.

With your doctor's agreement? I have taken coumadin in the past at times of need and hated the bruising & risks. I take a few meds to deal with clotting risks now. I had to stop a couple for a few days this week as I had a leg angiogram this morning. The leg felt so much better by the time I woke up.

That's a very expensive medication. I hope your insurance covers it well. If not, I get it directly from a Indian pharmacy, which gets it cheap from the local licensed factory that supplies US pharmacies. Generics are not allowed here but they are there so I get them for 21¢ each instead of 10$. let me know if you'd like to know more.

It is pricey. My work insurance w/B + B s makes a difference. I didn’t want to take it as I took aspirin. My cardio doc put me on it. $15.00 for 3 months.

Not only are they cheap but no self-serving evil conniving PBMs to deal with either. You can get instant refills too. All thanks to you.

The hematologist wanted me off after only 3 months. I bowed to the pulmonologist.

Yeah, I've had to give up on aspirin and ibuprofen totally and I don't think Tylenol is very rewarding but I settle for it as needed. That's a great intro price on Xarelto. I'm pretty proud of finding $12.60/month. I hope that your maintenance cost is affordablee.

Not on Xarelto. Takes about a month.

My Rx is for my AFib….taking it for life. The Eliquis is worse. So far episodes are not very frequent from going to the gym, but I will have the arrhythmia for life, a stroke risk if I don't take it.😕.

You don’t have to wait for them to contact you. You can simply reorder immediately. As long as your Rx is valid, they let you do it.
