Hey, Pete!

Looking at the weather, and hoping that you (and the kitties) are staying warm and dry!

When asked, Alexa said it was snowing at 3:00am. Asked again at 3:30am, and she informed me it was 290F and sleeting. Again, I felt like a Canadian trapper, all covered in fur. However, none of the 5 hooligans were thoughtful enough to snuggle by my feet, so the electric blanket and matress pads were turned on low. Djinni Lu, came in wet with bits of ice on her fur, so she opted to get under the covers with me. She loves to knead claws out for 10+ minutes, so the towel is there to protect my arm.

She’s supposed to keep you warm, not the other way around!
After a few seconds, she did. :D She's my cuddle buddy.

Yeah, I got close to 5” of the stuff in Harrellsville and bitter cold temps. My c1795 farmhouse stayed warm and I kept pipes running. I discovered a ‘heated throw’ I bought when my heating pad crapped out. I bought it for an extra gift. I spread at my lower legs and feet and on med. it keeps me warm. I just kept it there during this polar vortex spell and all is well. The ‘critters’ Will like it too.. Can’t wait for Spring…

I was spared any snow experience. I do like to look at snow on my browser. I don't need that first hand experience anymore.

FWIW, if it warms to above 50oF this Sunday, I'll be diving Troy Springs with friends. I don't wear thermal protection, so air temps are my limiting factor. :D

…..Aahhhhhh, Yes. The nice thing about diving Fl Springs at this time of year…70 deg. water temps feel really warm…😁…Enjoy!!!
And they feel refreshing in the summer! That is why I moved here. Paddling, swimming, and diving are my main hobbies. They can be done year round here.

Florida got more snow than Chicago (we only got an inch or so)! But we had several days in the single digits or below zero 🥶

This past week I was fired from my hemotologist. :D All of the ancillary issues caused by my back surgery have been resolved. Today I had my yearly healthcare examination and everything looks great. My A1C, BP, Pulse, etc is all normal, though I'm still fat and ugly. Surprisingly, my GP can no longer detect that slight heart murmur she heard a few years ago. The hematologist couldn't hear it either. That was stunning news. Neither can remember a murmur resolving itself in that manner.

I love my GP. She's absolutely the best I've had, even though she's a Nurse Practitioner. Smart, insightful, and witty. She's the real deal.
