This Saturday I have a Family member taking his first water dive other than a pool class at Morrison , As I understand the time on it will be 7am and I was wondering if anyone will be over there at this time from the board here? I will be there for support  and picturing taking, than on Sunday the Pensacola beach dive.

I have to wonder if the instructor a lady will be able to control him from ascending once that cold water hits his face when the mask is removed :rofl3:

I know it is bad of me to find humor in this but you would just have to meet this guy :D

I know from personal experience how much of a shock that cold water can be. The good thing about Morrison is the visibility...it takes some of the "new diver" apprehension away when you can see so far. But, swimming out over the hole can give a new diver something to think about...it should be fun for him AND you. Bring a snorkel and mask with you and you can watch the show from up top.

Glen - It'll be interested to hear your take on Morrison on one of its less than clear days  Read as swamp dive!

I thought Morrison opened at 8???

Are you saying Morrison will not be clear this weekend? I am planning an afternoon dive at Morrison Saturday after I finish my Vortex Stress and Rescue dives Saturday Morining.

Morrison opens when the gate is opened and closes at sunset - there are no set times.

Nobody said that. It'll be clear this weekend, aside from the kicked up bottom from getting there after everyone else has stirred it up. I said that its not always clear, when water levels are high or with alot of runoff, the spring can get quite tannic.

Inviting no? It gets plenty worse than even that...

yhea your right that is not very inviting. It must be Ginnie Springs then that I have seen some very inviting pics of. That does not look like it offers clear blue water. With that said I am willing to dive most anything once. I did dive a gravel pit on a salvage operation that was worse than that and strangely enough I even found some enjoyment out of that. Thanks for the pic. I think I will give it a try Saturday afternoon.

Morrison can be BEAUTIFUL. I've been in it with over 100ft vis. It just depends. In fact, I did it a couple of weeks ago and it had 70ft vis. or better. At least away from the students...

What does it cost to dive Morrison?
