What about conditions? Good? Great? So-so?

Erics Pinnacle had a little current. Everyone on the boat thought the vis was 50'. It was no less than 40' for sure (did not have my glasses on). Sunny top side.

Hey are you Greg? I forgot to ask your username while we were on the boat :D

Greg is srcalDiver. :)

Glad to hear that people had good dives. I am going to try and get down next weekend for a short dive or two. Want to be closer to Dive #100 before heading to FL than I am right now.... :D

i spent all day yesterday diving in lover's cove and even slept on top of one of the small buildings there. it was great as i felt myself getting my diving legs back. my suit kept unzipping though due to the hood skirt bulging under it, and I'm thinking of cutting off part of the back portion of the skirt. and I'm no longer scared of kelp! yay! well, as long as it's light out.

parking in breakwater is now 1.50 per hour, or 25 cents for 10 minutes :(

i'm sitting in the el torito parking lot and it seems that judging from the location of the fee collector box they collect fees on exit? so even if i get here at 5am, i'll still get charged when i exit later?

I do believe if the toll person is there, they will charge you. If you eat at the restaurant they validate the parking though.

Beautiful day with nice clear skies. We went to the Carmel area for our first dive. Boat ride was a little choppy but nothing too bad. Mother nature demanded at least some tax for the nice weather

We anchored at Fire Rock for our first dive. I started my dive with Mike G at 9:40. Dropped to 75' and started exploring and taking pictures. We stayed near the anchor line because there was so much life right there. Vis had to be at least 50' or more (I'm not the best judge of it :D) That dive gave me two of my favorite shots from the trip:

Due to being an air hog I got out after 32 minutes with mike g shortly behind me.

We had good time coming back as all the divers returned within a 10 minute period. We then discussed the weather conditions and the reports from the other boats. We decided to return to the bay.

On our way we spotted a whale that surfaced a couple times but then returned to the depths. A few minutes later we spotted a good size pod of dolphins and watched them for awhile. I was enjoying watching them so much that I didn't grab my camera.

We then returned to the bay and anchored. I didn't catch the name of this location so hopefully one of the other two will let us know.

This time Mike G and Greg paired up and I went with another diver who also wanted to just stay near the anchor. This spot had a good current (see aforementioned tax) but was clear and had lots to photograph. I actually took more pictures of this location but not as many came out as I would have liked.

I was stupid and fought the current too much and only got 23 minutes at 73 feet. When I signaled to the other diver that I was going up he still had 1500 left and he stayed downed.

Due to the current the divers got scattered a bit and had to be picked up. The other diver who was at the anchor line said that when he got done he turned to wear the anchor was only to find it missing.

We got back about 1:30 or so. The other divers were a great bunch and it was a really enjoyable day.

This was my first "same day, same ocean" "buddying" that was pre-aggreed upon, so that was interesting.

I started the day at 3:30am and ended at midnight so I'm still a little wiped :D

Nice report and pictures Mike. The second dive site was Aumentos Reef. The "other diver", whose name I've forgotten too, did arrive to a missing anchor. I was at the anchor waiting for him as it started to drag across the sand, then ascend to the surface.

I thought I might have found another boat's anchor, but then decided it had to be ours and they were off to pick someone up. By the time I finished my safety stop the Sanctuary was back so they must have been watching the "other diver"'s and my bubbles after they finished their errand.
