Dove the breakwater this morning. Heavy overcast and green 10 to 15 foot vis made for a dark dive. We cruised the bottom of the wall 'til half air then moved up to 30 feet for the return and the vis was a bit better. (The sun came out & that helped too, I suspect).

Lots of small blue rockfish, several lingcod, some fast sea lion passes and a cormorant were the highlights.

64 minutes bottom time, 42 feet max depth, 53F, no surf to speak of.

Oh, and I got a replacement "right" camera from GoPro & am shooting 3D again, whew!

I try not to breath...;)

We were both using 120's. Just checked...still have 1200lbs in my tank. Buddy started with a short fill.

North Monastery yesterday (6/7). thigh-high surf in the morning on the entry. Descended about 50yds from shore along the kelp/sand interface to about 25ft depth and a disappointing 10ft of visibility. Proceeded out and vis improved to a nice 30-35 ft after getting beyond the surge zone and beyond 40 ft depth. Don't have a reliable reading, but the water seemed colder than usual and I was grateful to be diving dry

Lot's of big Lings stil in the area, also a big vermillion and cabezon encountered. Black Rockfish hanging along the kelp stalks midwater. small school of Blues as well and a scattering of juvenile rockfish of various age/size. No jellies or salps seen at all. Encountered the angel shark again around the corner in the sand where seen previously and left it undisturbed.

exited to blue sky and went to lunch at the Rio Grill down the street in the shopping center. Great lunch/ brunch there on Sundays.

Reviewing video I shot on the dive last night and it looked really good. Made the vis seem even better than I remembered it on the dive. I am pleased so far with my new gopro. Will post the video when I get around to doing the editing

Dove the Barge today. Vis was 10-15. Ocean was a lake. Water temp 52. All the usual suspects out there.

Two dives at Point Lobos today. Both dives were to the end of middle reef. Bis in and near the mouth of Whalers cove was 10-15'. I hit 75' past the end of middle reef and vis was probably 20-25'. Water temps were 49-50. The swell wa flat at the start of the day, but it started to get a little stronger late in the day. All things considered, it was a decent day of diving.

Breakwater was surprisingly good today. Metridium Fields was 25 to 30 ft vis. Wall was 20-25. Tons of Sea Hares. Very nice day. 52 degrees at Metridium.

2 dives at Breakwater on Saturday, mainly sorting buoyancy out for slightly different weighting in anticipation of Sunday's boat dives.
Viz around 10-15ft along the wall and near the first kelp reef. Sea hares everywhere, we saw piles of them all over the place (most likely enjoying some grown-up style fun). Also spent some time gawking at a school of sardines which were being dive bombed by cormorants in about 20ft of water.

2 boat dives on Sunday to (finally) complete AOW which we had left hanging for over a year. Ballbuster and Mating Amtracks with similar conditions - viz ~40ft, a bracing 44F at depth. Didn't see any of the wolf eels but plenty of ling cods around.
