I dove with Enrigue last Monday and would highly recommend him too. Pretty straight forward and honest guy. I asked about the shark thing and he was honest with me (not as much due to fishermans and the whale shark tour only operates during summer and via snorkling only). I did feel bad I was the only one he was taking out that day. He was very professional and didn't take me thru the usual routes where all people go although he did give me the choice - more colorful but smaller fishes or larger fishes. Luckily we hit a nurse shark also so I got to see my first shark up close. 
Great guy. I'd dive with him again next time. And I would stay at least 2 nights in Isla Mujeres too.
