Mares Proton Ice Extreme Regulator question

Hi,

I am new to scuba diving and I am looking to buy some scuba gear.
I live in Canada so I will dive in cold water and maybe in extreme cold water someday. So I was looking for a reg when I found the Mares Proton Ice Extreme. My questions are :

- Why the retail price is 900$, when all online store sell it for 360$ ?
- Would it be a good buy considering price/quality ?
- Any cons about this reg ?
- Any other suggestion ?

I am not an expert on that regulator. What I can tell you is be careful when ordering on the WEB as many of the sellers are not authorized distributors. If they are any from NYC on a specific street I would not go for their low cost vice a authorized dealer. Look at their web site and make sure they are authorized. I just made that mistake and it was a bear getting it cleared up. Buying bargain basement is just what it is..... No guaranteeeeeeeeee.
I am sure someone else will chime in with experience with Cold water regulators here in the Caribbean you do not have that problem of Ice.....
