Hi, I actually own both and both are great regulators. If I had to choose, I would go with the Scubapro as it seems to have more air available when you need it. Honestly, however, you can't go wrong with either and I'll be you'll be happy with both.

I agree we should not bash Aqualung for no longer supporting the DA Aquamaster and similar regs, but we do need to bash Aqualung for producing the truly hideous "new" Mistral.

And truth be told, Aqualung still more or less supports your PRAM and mine as they use Titan annual service kits.

I also agree with you that parts are expensive to tool and produce, particularly for a small market like the vintage double hose market. I don't think the number of Dacor reg users was that small in comparision.

But Aqualung does not support my pre-1970 DA, Mistral or Royal - and from what I see on ebay and other sites, there are a lot of them out there - and most could use parts that are not Titan based, like the PRAM. Fortunately, due to Luis's engineering and Bryan's passion, we can get parts and dive these and they are better than the originals (can't wait for the new hoses/mouthpieces).

As far as the "new" Mistral - what an abomination. :shakehead: :shakehead: I guess if you stay in business for very long you will sooner or later make a mistake. :D

PS - the only reason I have problem recommending ScubaPro is their marketing policies - the few regs I've tried of theirs seem like quality gear - but I like the fact the the upper end Mares gear is still all metal (plus I can get it for less than 10% off MAP).
