Hello, I just got a new Mako scooter :D. Spent almost two hours on it tooling around in the quarry. What fun! When I put it in the water, the nose was very buoyant. U/W I constantly had to "point" the nose down. It was recommended to add some weight(s) inside. I can do this, but wanted to get/see what Oceanic's "official" recommendation was.

Thanks
Steve

Weighting a scooter is a subjective thing. Some like them positive, others neutral, and a few like them negative. The Mako is tail heavy and there is no way around it. Your harness should control it when on the trigger though. The only time I fight it is when scootering on the surface, with my face up in the air. If in trim on the surface it is not a problem. Gas management can make that a non issue or a ummm...snorkel.

Weighting is discussed in this thread:

Thanks Mr. Peter_C! Followed your links and got some information! AND IDEAS!

Still interested in Oceanic's response.

Still would be nice to see what the recommendation is. This seems to be a cool scooter! But not hearing anything back from the manufacturer...is no answer an answer? Please PM if this is better.
