Anyone interested in meeting in Marianna, FL. to dive in merrits mill pond and renting a boat from the guys at Cave Ventureres before the Vortex Meet, or in conjunction with it. They have a 17 and 24 ft. pontoon that would definately hold four to six folks with gear.?

Do they check for cave certs to rent the boats? I'd like to swim into JB under the parks radar

Nope, in fact they said they often rent to non divers...

I really dont want to get into Cave diving, but Cavern yes. I like to be able to see my way out...

I also want to do some of the other springs...i.e., Ginnie, Devils Den, and Blue Grotto.

Yeah, I'd like to get some proper cavern training and see how I like it. I wouldn't be suprised if I got bitten by the cave bug though - although I think I'd stick to Intro-Level stuff. I'm enjoying the friendlier caverns I've been diving already without any real certification. I hear Jackson Blue is friendly too.

I've been to Ginnie, Devils Den, and Blue Grotto They are all unique and worth a visit. Infact, I've been to Ginnie several times now and can't wait to get back.

Should be there or thereabouts that weekend, although i might be staying with John Viehe rather than camping and hitting a few caves, but should still be around for some socialising!
