During my diving days in Negros we used our farmworkers as personal couriers and nicknamed them "shark bait" because they would not only carry our gear but also checked the water temp for us and check for (at that time allegedly dangerous) sharks. When we surfaced we sat on inflated tractor tire interiors while they towed us back to either shore or boat and removed our gear from our person. Those were the days that are now gone.
