Any recommendations for lower priced regs? I have read good reviews about the Zeagle Envoy and Envoy Deluxe. Any experience with these and thoughts about them? Other suggestions?

I have about 70 dives on an Envoy and no problems, Cold water, warm salt etc...

The salvo sr2 set of regs is a great breathing set of regs. A first and second stage sells for 250 at full retail. They are a great breathing reg overall. I have sold a good many of them and have had no complaints.

Top performing regs are available at budget prices if you are willing to go the used regulator route.

Awap is right. You'd be much farther ahead buying a used top quality reg than a new "cheap" reg.

A new low performance reg is still going to be a new low performance reg and after a the first year it is a used low performance reg that may be difficult to get serviced if it is an off brand.

On the other hand a well designed top quality reg will still deliver top quality performance even if it is a few years or even a decade old. As long as you buy an upper end used reg from Scubapro or Aqualung you will still be able to get it serviced. Both companies provde excelelnt parts and service support for discontinued models. In addition, Scubapro uses an evolutionary design philosophy that usually allows upgrades in current models to be retrofitted into older models. The result is that the "old" reg will still offer performance on par with the latest model. And to be honest, reg development plateaued about 15 years ago with nothing really wonderful in terms of reg performance occurring since.

Regs are very much the ultimate in durable foods and unless badly abused, neglected or poorly maintained, they do not suffer a degradation in performance due to age.

The Zeagle Envoy is not a cheap regulator but it is priced quite nicely. I have tried it and and I compare it to my Flathead without the adjustments. I would recommend this regulator to anyone.

I bought the Envoy primary and two secondaries. Zeagle is popular in the US and Australia where I currently live. I have never needed service but it is readily available.

I have done over 100 dives with the regs down to 50 meters and have had no problems. I have not used the "expensive" regs from any manufacturer, but I would recommend the Envoy to anyone.

DA Aquamaster and awap are right,

I wouldn't use a cheap reg not cus they are bad but rather why should I? A DS4 combo is very resonable and totally reliable, while a MK17 is only slightly more?

I got a pair of DS4 regs off the classified for $380 including shipping so why should you compromise when some fine regs are available for great deals?
