Visibility on some of the deeper rigs can reach 150 feet at certain times of the year. I have floated on the surface and watched divers 150 feet below.

pt40fathoms:Sorry to inform you of this, but your theory is incorrect. You can do all the recreational specialties and up to Rescue Diver with PADI, with no prerequisites on the number of dives. However you must have a minimum of 100 logged dives to start any of the Tec courses offered by PADI.
I cant speak to the requirements of other training agencies, but Im sure that a certified instructor from those agencies could clear up any questions in that regard.
TX101:Well, sorry to inform you of this, but your theory is incorrect.
I never said PADI. If you read what I actually wrote, I said TDI - or Technical Diving International.
TX101:So in theory a OW diver can do all the PADI courses straight to rescue, then do Ad. Nitrox & Deco and be certified to 45m, deco diving - all in about 30 dives.
spearfisherman55:I talked to Chris at Adventure Quest today, and he is fine with me diving these depths. He said that it would be good to take AOW. He said that in the AOW course he teaches how to breath right, about 3 different types of ways to kick, gas planning, and planning a dive with computers. He said that they do 5 dives, one night dive, one useing navgation dive, and the other two just with the other stuff he taught us. He said that we will be diving to the bottom in 100' of water.
