I'm sure that what Arnaud meant to say was remind you was that, "All we are saying is give love a chance!"

Maybe my luck is changing. My dear friend Sheena from Shanghai (currently in San Diego) called tonight after a 6 month absence. She meets almost all my desires except... she doesn't dive. At least she tried to go in at the Dive Park last November. As my icon Ed "Doc" Ricketts, who loved women with thick lips, used to say... if she has thin lips and wears red lipstick, her intentions are good. Good intentions go a long way in my book.

Pray to Neptune for me.

Hey drbill - I meet almost all of your criteria.....except the single part.:D

Mr. Ricketts is a hero, eh? His daughter Nancy lives here in Sitka, and she is quite the character. I have a very worn out copy of Between Pacific Tides - it's like the family bible around this house!

...do you Mr. Bill...brains, beauty, diving... you want to extend that list any further?!?

:D :D :D

Ah, Victoria, we all have dreams. I try to achieve mine. So far so good. But I'm also a realist, and do have some flexibility... even with (gulp) the diver issue. Brains are a necessity, but I never mentioned "beauty" in my list of attributes. Why? Beauty is in the eye of the beholder (and my vision isn't that good!). I meet many women who I consider attractive, and not necessarily due to their physical beauty but their zest for life.

As someone once said, "you are not old until regrets replace your dreams." I have few regrets and many dreams... and I intend to achieve as many as possible, and create a few new ones in the process.

now, now, now Dr Bill. I'm not believin your post. I checked out your website and a hunk of burnin love like you is posting for a dive buddy. Give me a break!!!!! You have to beat the scuba bunnies off with your snorkel.

havent you heard... beauty is no longer in the eye of the beholder but in the eye of the beer holder... :)

good luck in your search for the perfect "buddy"

Saltwater taffy- I am definitely "serious." Living on Catalina with its geographical isolation (especially in winter) makes it difficult to meet women. There are very few on the island I would date (this town can be a real Peyton Place), and they are already involved. Must admit I'm also a little shy until I get to know someone. Can't beat off those bunnies with a snorkel because I don't wear one (it gets caught in the crevices where I poke my head to film).

Axeman- I drink wine but I assume that can have the same effect on one's perception of beauty as beer!
