I am certified under the YMCA, NAUI, PADI and Los Angeles County

I've sent mimsai your way, Tom. Hopefully you'll get an email soon. :)

I know you're an instructor through nearly every agency that matters, but since we've never discussed this, which agency's courses do you usually teach? (Aside from YMCA OW, of course)

In Tom's case it's the instructor ... not the agency.:D

see post #3 in this thread if you'd like more information regarding his program.

Just a little food for thought. The agency doesn't matter as much as the Instructor teaching the course.

Just my .02

If I were in your position, I'd see Tom and beg him for the YMCA Silver Advanced class, then take the LA County Advanced Diver Program in the summer.

I also have a PADI training facility in Santa Clarita where we teach AOW and all other PADI courses.

It's good that you are doing your research, but go into the shops that you are considering in person, talk to the instructors that would be teaching your class and get a first hand "vibe". There are a lot of instructors out there (including myself) but you have to train with who you feel comfortable with.

If you are close to my area, stop by and I can give you some information on our AOW program.

Good luck!
