Hello to all the DIR/GUE brethren, POD DIVER RADIO is planning a cave diving trip to Rivera Maya. I am looking for a DIR connection in Mexico Cave Country. I want to give equal time to DIR/GUE cave diving in the Rivera Maya

Some of you may have listened to the POD DIVER RADIO podcast. We cover all things about hardcore diving. Tech Diving, Wreck Diving, Cave Diving, Free Diving, we interview experts; both DIR and non-DIR and in 2007 we partner with DAN Tech Tips. POD DIVER RADIO is non-denominational and open to all diving philosophies.

I have been cave diving in the Yucatan, but all my dive buddies down there are non-DIR cave divers. I would like to hook up with a friendly DIR/GUE facility or instructor in the area. This way I can get the story of what kind of diving and expeditions are being done in the DIR/GUE system.

On TDS, Zero Gravity was recommended. Are they the only DIR/GUE game in town?

Thanks

Chris, Danny, and Fred at Zero Gravity are the only GUE game in town as far as I know. They are great folks, I'm sure you will have a great time and get the scoop on their explorations.
Here is some background on what they have been doing:

I'll be looking foward to checking out the cast, when are you hoping to get this one recorded.

Joe:

I am a big fan of yours!

The DIR community is small and tight knit. The So Cal, or for that matter, powerhouse of GUE in this neck of the woods is MHK on this board. He is a great guy, always glad to point folks in the right direction, and a wealth of information.

Also, from the video footage I have seen, he is the man when it comes to cave diving down in Mexico. Feel free to PM him.

Happy Holidays to you and Rescue Rachel,

Tevis

While I would recommend Mike for anyone looking for training, he is hardly "the man" when it come to cave diving in Mexico.
