dive with the license holder and have him surface with bugs in his bag.

Oh, I'm sure a bunch of folks here (myself included) would love to tag along when you try this:censored:

what would the problem be?the diver with the bugs will be licensed and will have bugs in their pocession and within limits..

I guess it's like a group of deer hunters who all go out and when one gets a deer, they call the only guy who actually has a license. No harm, no foul. Right?

When I go to other states (including NY) to hunt, fish or dive I accept that there are certain things residents are entitled to that non-residents aren't.

I can see your point, but to compare hunting license to diving with a buddy who catch's lobsters is different . there is hunting safety courses and such to protect eveyone,I do not know what else for I do not hunt. To walk in the woods with a gun you need the license,to do so without license is illegal..You are still legal diving this way.I guess there is also a problem with someone diving with a FLA. license for bugs with his wife..They only want enough for dinner ,so the license gives you 6..She does not have a license but assists in locating and bagging them-so whats the problem?

I'm comparing it to multiple people catching something that only one person is licensed to catch.
For the record, there is nothing wrong with a person who has a FID card walking through the woods during deer season with a gun. There is something wrong with that person shooting a deer and then having his buddy with the hunting license "bring the deer up" in his "bag".

Is that clearer?

Another example: I have my comm. scallop license. When I do scallop dives with a buddy (who doesn't have a comm. license), he only gets 1 gallon of meat. Period. Once he has his scallops, he doesn't start filling up more bags so I can "bring them up under my license".

Based on the fact that I'm the only one who seems to have an issue with this, I will stop posting in this thread. Fire away.

Who Should i bug (pun intended) to lobby for recreational diver lobstah licensing (similar to the rec scallops lic) in Me.... It sucks that I dive in the lobstah state and can't touch the fxxxxrs!

Join the club brother!!! NH House Bill 1182 got shot down in flames AGAIN this year. Mass. requires you be either a resident, or own $5k in property to get a license.... I have $297k in NH and can't get 1lb of lobster legally!!! I say it's all BS and politics. :soapbox:

Not so Mr. decapoddiver; I also have an issue with the unlicensed stealing lobster. I guess the best analogy I can come up with is this; if you and a dive buddy go down and only one of you has a license, but you both hunt and share a game bag. Well that is like one lic diver going down with an unlicensed diver and they both hunt and well share a game bag which of course would be illegal in MA. Lobster is like $7 a pound, scuba gear closer to $13.00 a pound so why get yours confiscated, Stop & Shop even runs sales sometimes. If I even forget my lic at home or my number board diappears from the trunk, even if I am diving with a friend I do not take lobsters (easy for me to say as I usually don't get any anyway).
