Anyone interested in driving out to Lake Ouachita next weekend (11/2) and checking it out? I hear it's pretty good diving. Sounds like a cool place to campout and enjoy the scenery too. For those of you unfamiliar with it, the Lake Ouachita is in Arkansas, a little southwest of Little Rock just off IH30. Here's a link that gives some dive, and other misc, info on the place:

I will be in Canton Tx. next weekend.
Lake Ouachita is a great place for hiking and diving.
There is only mainly one shore entry spot avlb. to the public and that is at the dam.....a dive park of sorts underwater with various items at various depths and some deep diving/190+ffw.
You can rent a pontoon and hit some of the dive spots on the lake....but nothing wrong with the dam area diving, pretty good vis.
Fresh water sponges and jellies....cool temps and some fall colors.
I just got back for that general area over this past weekend....I know a few of the lakes are down as much as 12ft. because of this years drought in that region.
If you go have a great time!!

Man I've been wanting to check this place out but I'll be diving in Florida that weekend.

I'm with LakeScubaDiver......IT'S COLD! I'm from Arkansas and I'm not going to go till late May or early June. BBBRRRRRRRRR!!!! Would be a great time to roast some marshmallows over the camp fire. Anyway, have fun. Lake Ouachita is my favorite.

Almost full.

I debated on how much I would open this up as I'm not a dive shop and don't want to open myself up to lawsuit but I'm trying to keep the cost down.

I have never done this before so we'll see how it goes.

Wow! That looks great. There are a couple of folks from Austin who are interested. I'll point 'em that way. Sounds like a much better option going with someone who actually knows the lake. Thanks!!

I don't know the lake but one of the people going with me does, and I'm being provided a map.
