I am unavailable on Friday and would like to go diving this weekend at the Boat ramp. Is anyone going diving in the morning on Sunday or Saturday at the boat ramp?

I'll be there Sunday morning at the ramp, probably be there around 10am.

It was good to see Tony and Ken up at the ramp.

3mm was sufficient to 95' 20' viz, 68F @ depth, 82F @ surface.

What he said, plus, the lines can be an entanglement hazard in low visibility.

edit: this is not to say we don't appreciate your enthusiasm. We do.

Oh absolutely! No negative meant to Joe. Just an offer of a different perspective. I worry about folks who "lose the line" on their swim. Newer divers don't always remember "up" (including a safety stop) is an option if lost until panic sets in and then problems compound. My view has always been that if folks don't possess (or are willing to learn) the use of a compass then they do not need to be doing advanced dives where disorientation is possible.

Jeremy,

It was finally nice to meet you in person. Sorry, I missed you on the wheelchair boat or I would have danced for you. :dork2: Instead, I was standing on my head looking at the catfish under the boat or tying off some line floating up in the water(seems to be a lot of that floating line there).

The ramp was so peaceful all day. We only seen 2 other divers all day after you guys left.

Ken is right on there! That was some really nice and relaxed diving. It was very peaceful and quiet up there on Thursday and Friday with hardly no boats and only a few divers. Makes me want to go back really soon.

You know, I'm sure there is a 12 step program for folks who do this many freshwater dives in one day :D
Yeah, diving is an addiction. I can quit. I'm sure, well maybe... if I really wanted to and the vis was crappy, and the water was really cold, and...and....
Heck, sounds like a great day to me!

We've got to get back up there. Just hard to leave here (Augusta) with great vis right now (15'+ in both the lake yesterday and river today in the sun, lots of fish and some nice finds).

Went out today, what a perfect day! Went to find the forest and saw it finally. 105' and the 3mm wasn't quite thick enough, 65 deg. Spend the rest of the day helping out folks getting certified. Can't wait to go out again. :D
