Took me a while to find out the name of the places that I had stayed in Mae Haad.
Baan Suan Ta and Save Bungalow. No issue whatsoever for someone with simple requirement.

How much more does the speed boat cost?
My back doesn't allow me to climb the ladder from old fishing boat like Baan.

I’ve seen both Master Divers and DJL help dekit customers in water who had issues claiming up the ladders fully kitted.

Doing around 30 dives per visit, that’s around B15,000 more for diving than I normally pay, or 50% more.

I've never been to the Caribbean, but I just googled 'Cozumel dive prices' and the first link gave me $500 for a 10-dive package, not including gear rental, whereas here 12800 THB for the same works out to $360 and includes BCD, wetsuit, regulator and fins, although not a dive computer. Normal prices on Tao are 1000 THB per dive, with bulk diskcounts and your own equipment bringing it down to 700-800/dive, so this is a ~50% premium.
